Help & Support

Complete guide to using AWSomecards — flipping and rating cards, spaced-repetition review, study modes, keyboard shortcuts, and support for your AWS certification preparation.

Everything you need to study smarter with spaced repetition, build a streak, and reach us if you hit a snag.

§ 01 · GETTING STARTED

How the cards work. Flip, search, focus.

No installs, no account — open a deck and start recalling.
01 · STUDY A CARD

Flip & study

Click or tap the card — or press Space — to flip between the question and the answer.

Move around: use / to step through cards, and S to shuffle for varied practice.

02 · RATE YOUR RECALL

Tell it how well you knew it

After flipping, rate the card — Again, Hard, Good, or Easy (or keys 14).

Each rating schedules when you'll see the card next: cards you miss come back in minutes, ones you know are pushed out days or weeks. That's spaced repetition — see the next section.

03 · SEARCH

Find anything fast

  • Quick search: press Ctrl+F (or Cmd+F on Mac) to focus the search box.
  • Real-time filtering: type at least 2 characters to search questions, answers, and categories.
  • Highlighting: your terms are highlighted within cards so you spot relevant info quickly.
  • Clear: click the × button or press Escape to return to all cards.
04 · MODES & DOMAINS

Focus your session

  • All / Core / Comparisons / Quick facts: study everything, or focus by tier.
  • Progressive: work in order of importance — Core, then Compare, then Facts.
  • Domain chips: filter to a single exam domain to drill a weak area.
  • Search: type a keyword to build a focused set on the fly.
§ 02 · SPACED REPETITION & DUE TODAY

Review what you're about to forget.

Your ratings build a schedule, so every visit surfaces exactly the cards that need you.
01 · HOW SCHEDULING WORKS

Every rating sets a due date

  • Again — you blanked: the card returns in about a minute.
  • Hard — shaky: a short step (~6 min), then a slightly longer gap.
  • Good — solid: graduates to ~1 day, then grows each time you get it right.
  • Easy — instant: jumps straight out to ~4 days and beyond.

The interval under each button is the real next time you'll see that card.

02 · DUE TODAY

Start a review session

The panel beside the card shows New, Learning, and Due counts. Press Start review → to study just what's due now — overdue and struggling cards first, then a fresh batch of new ones.

Show whole deck drops you back into free study at any time.

03 · COMING BACK

Pick up where the schedule left off

Your schedule is saved between visits, so there's nothing to set up. Return any day, glance at the Due count, and hit Start review — the cards you're about to forget are served first.

No account, no sign-in: it's all stored in this browser. So progress won't carry to another device or browser, and a private / incognito window won't keep it after you close it.

04 · YOUR PROGRESS

See it add up

  • Exam domains: a progress bar per domain shows where you're strong and weak.
  • Cards seen: how much of the deck you've worked through.
  • Daily streak: consecutive days you've studied, shown in the header.
  • All local: everything lives in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
§ 03 · KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

Study at speed. Hands on the keys.

Speed up your sessions with these shortcuts — plus gestures on mobile.

§ 04 · STUDY ONLINE & BUILD A STREAK

Show up daily. Let it compound.

Active recall and spaced repetition, right in your browser.

Why study on the site?

AWSomecards is built for active recall and spaced repetition right in your browser — no installs, always up to date, and your schedule follows you every time you come back.

BUILT-IN HABIT TOOLS

Everything to keep the streak alive

  • Daily streak: return each day to grow the streak in the header.
  • Spaced-repetition schedule: ratings set due dates so reviews come back at the right time.
  • Domain progress: per-domain bars and "cards seen" are saved locally per deck.
  • Always current: cards are updated continuously, so you always get the latest.
MAKE IT A HABIT

Little and often beats cramming

Study a little every day. Short, consistent sessions with spaced repetition beat cramming — and keep your streak alive.

Each day, clear your Due today queue with Start review, then add a few new cards to lock in fresh material.

§ 05 · STUDY TIPS

Strategies that stick. Recall over rereading.

A handful of habits that move you from recognizing answers to recalling them.
01 · STUDY STRATEGY

Build from the core out

Start with Core cards to build a solid foundation, then move to Compare cards to understand service differences, and finish with Facts cards for specific details.

02 · SPACED REPETITION

Rate honestly, review daily

The schedule is only as good as your ratings — be honest about what you actually knew. Then come back each day and clear your Due today queue so cards resurface right before you'd forget them.

03 · ACTIVE LEARNING

Deep-dive with search

Use the search feature to deep-dive into specific topics. Search service names, concepts, or keywords to create focused study sessions on areas where you need improvement.

04 · MIX IT UP

Shuffle to avoid order memory

Press S to shuffle regularly so you learn the cards, not their order. Random practice better prepares you for the unpredictable nature of real exams.

05 · FOCUS AREAS

Spend time where it's weak

Use category filters to focus on your weak areas. If you're struggling with networking, spend extra time on VPC and networking-related cards.

§ 06 · TECHNICAL SUPPORT

When something breaks. Quick fixes first.

Most issues clear up with a refresh, JavaScript enabled, and an up-to-date browser.
COMMON ISSUES

Troubleshooting

  • Cards not loading: check your internet connection and refresh the page.
  • Navigation not working: ensure JavaScript is enabled in your browser.
  • Mobile display issues: rotate your device or switch portrait/landscape.
  • Shortcuts not working: click the page first so it has focus.
BROWSER & MOBILE

Compatibility & performance

AWSomecards works best with modern browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. For the best experience, keep your browser up to date.

If mobile loading feels slow, try:

  • Closing other browser tabs
  • Clearing your browser cache
  • Using Wi-Fi instead of cellular data
  • Restarting your browser app
